i was originally gonna go with forced cohabitation where they initally don't really like each other but... it was going to be longer than my current attention span will allow me to write. SOBS.



"The least you can do is clean up after your guests, you know," Jaejin tells Kibum, as he toes over a can of beer lying around.

He flops down on the sofa, shoving Kibum's legs out of the way. "This place is a mess," he adds, picking up a few pieces of nuts from the bowl sitting on the coffee table.

"You could've joined the fun, you know," Kibum points out. "It was supposed to be your homecoming shindig."

"Was it?" Jaejin's eyebrow quirks up. "Chulyong was saying something earlier about weekly parties."

"You know Chulyong loves exaggerating," Kibum says, stretching his legs over Jaejin's lap.

"Dongwoon said it was true."

"Oops?" Kibum says, cocking his head, not looking sorry at all.

"Geez Kibum, I go away for a little over a month and you turn this place into party central," Jaejin frowns.

"Only 'cause I missed you!" Kibum says with a teasing grin.

Jaejin stares at him and snorts, "Kibummie, most jokes are half-meant."

"Who said anything about a joke?" Kibum says.

Jaejin laughs. "Remember the last time you 'missed' me? You went to that singles mixer thing and met Chulyong and Dongwoon and—"

"And Jinwoon, yeah, what's your point?" Kibum asks, poking a toe into Jaejin's side. "They're all your friends too, now. Even snitching on me and my parties, hmph."

Jaejin laughs. "My point is, we don't need any more weirdos in our life! Also, we don't really need huge messes to clean up," he says looking around their almost-trashed apartment.

"You're just too much of a lazy-ass to clean up, admit it."

"Maybe," Jaejin says, laughing again. "Can't we just stay on the couch and will the mess away?"'

Kibum chooses that moment to turn his body around and exchange his head for his legs on Jaejin's lap. "Only if you let me stay like this," he says, making himself comfortable.

"But your head is so heavy," Jaejin complains, but he's also smiling.

"Still prettier than your head," Kibum replies.

"That doesn't even make sense!" Jaejin exclaims, which gets Kibum to crack up, which in turn gets Jaejin laughing.

"You're such an unbearable shit sometimes," Jaejin says with a sigh after their laughter finally dies down.

"Yeah, but I'm your unbearable shit and there's nothing you really wanna do about it," Kibum says.
